Both Captain’s stepped on the ground with a high morale to win the only icc t20i match happening between No 3 and No 5 ranked teams in ICC Ranking for teams in t20I. Finch won the toss and elected to bowl first keeping in view of the dew factor. Babar and Rizwan the dream opening pair of Pakistan came to bat and scored 67 runs partnership, bith were playing good and everything was in Pakistan’s favor until Rizwan failed to pick an off-cutter from Green and got bowled and right after that Fakhar departed on the very first ball when Finch got an excellent catch in the 30 yard circle. Babar once again scored a stylish 50. Babar and Khushdil took Pakistan to 118-3 when Babar departed on Zampa wide of the off-stump ball. At the moment it was looking difficult for Pakistan to reach the total of 150 but courtesy of Usman Qadir, Pakistan scored 17 in the last over and gave the target of 162 to the guests. 3rd and last ODI between Pakistan and Australia was played in Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on April 2nd, where Babar won the toss, and asked the guests to bat first. Finch and Head stepped on the ground for opening and both didn’t troubled the scorer, as they both went out for a DUCK, Shaheen and his legacy, to get wickets in first over was continued, as he got Head on the very first ball of the innings. Top scorer from Australia was Alex Carey, who scored 56 on 61 balls. Australia were 166-9 when Abbott took charge, and scored 49 off 40 balls and took his side to the total of 210. Haris and Wasim Jr got 3,3 wickets, Shaheen got 2, Zahid and Iftikhar took 1,1 wicket. Pakistan needed 211 runs to win the match and this bilateral series. Pakistani openers came and shown positive attitude by scoring 10 in the first over, but later, Fakhar got out on a slower delivery by Ellis. Then came the Lion of Pakistani Cricket team, BABAR AZAM. From there on Pakistan dominated the match like a pro. Babar scored a century and became the Pakistani Captain, with most centuries that too in just 84 innings. Imam played a sensible knock as well by scoring 89 off 100 balls.
Pakistan have won the ODI series against Australia in Lahore. It has been a long since, Pakistan Cricket has played an ODI series but when they did they won it in style. According to ICC World cup Super League ranking Pakistan is at 8th position with 62 points in hand. Pak vs Aus is always a treat to watch for Cricket fans and this bilateral series have proved it to be true.

Umer Gul earned this nickname “Gul-Dozer” for his rattling the stumps on the field. Umer is now being called by Afghanistan Cricket Board, to be part of their side as a Bowling Coach. Umer’s stunning effort in Pakistan Cup, has paid off where he coached Balochistan, and they won the recent Pakistan Cup. He also coached Quetta Gladiators in PSL. It was so sad, when he couldn’t even got a chance to have a farewell from the team, he gave his 100% for. Now he is moving on to different assignment and will be coaching the talented and energetic Afghanistan’s Cricket Team.
Lets discuss about Umer Gul’s career in this blog. Umer made ODI debut for Pakistan in 2003 against Zimbabwe in Sharjah where he bowled 7 overs with an economy of 3.57 and took 2 wickets as well. He then got his test cap in 2003 against Bangladesh in Karachi in which he bowled 39 overs and got 2 wickets. His first t20 match was against Kenya in Nairobi where he bowled 3 over with an economy of 2.33 and remain wicketless. He played total 47 test matches, took 163 wickets with an economy of 3.47. The ODI records says, he played 130 matches, took 179 wickets with the economy of 5.19. Whereas in T20 he was quite incredible he got 5 wickets for 6 runs and that happened 2 times one against New Zealand in 2009 and other against South Africa in 2013. He played 60 matches, took 85 wickets with the economy of 7.19. He was also part of IPL when he played for KKR in IPL 1st edition. Then entered the mighty, the boss and the storm ANDRE RUSSELL, who played another innings of his life in which he scored 70 off just 31 balls, hitting 8 mighty sixes and 2 fours, and took his team to an amazing win in 15th over. Sam Billings played a sensible knock of 24 off 23 and rotated the strike for Russess to hit the boundaries. IPL never fails to entertain it’s viewers and that is what happened in the last cricket match as well. With this win KKR now moves at top of the table surpassing RR in IPL 2022.

“Pakistan Cricket at its best One Minute Down Next Minute Up” Every cricket fan specially from Pakistan would be well aware about this phrase said by Naseer Hussain in Champions Trophy 2017. After a loss in 1st ODI Pakistan Cricket were looking in a deep trouble they had a last chance to save the series and courtesy of Babar Imam and Fakhar they levelled the series with Aussies. Pakistan won the toss and chose to ball which was a good decision as Shaheen got Finch in his very first over but later Head and Mcdorment scored a blaster centuries and Aussies managed to score 349 in 50 overs. Then came Fakhar and Imam whose intention’s were clear right from the first over when Imam started the innings with a Six. Fakhar and Imam were involved in a 118 runs partnership then came Babar and scored a stylish century. It was Iftikhar who hit the final six and took his team to victory. Series are level with 1-1. 3rd and Last ODI will be played on 02-04-2022 in Gaddafi Stadium Lahore where both teams will try to win the series for their nation.
